Venique Romanics Collection

Romantics Collection is the newest collection available from Venique.
It is a six shade collection with a variety of different finishes, and I have three of them to share with you today.

A Fairytale Wish is a pale blue with a cream finish.

Lavish Embellishment is a lavender scattered holo glitter, this dries with a textured finish, but a top coat can be added to make it shiny and smooth. This is 2 coats.

Layered with Lace is a pale pink scattered holo glitter, just like Lavish Embellishment, it dries to a textured finish, I used 2 coats.

Blurred to show the holographic effect.

FingerPaints Picnic in the Park Collection

FingerPaints Picnic in the Park is a limited edition collection, available in March at Sally Beauty Supply stores.

Frosty Lemonade is a bright yellow cream.

You're So Antsy has a clear base with small black and white square, hex,  and micro glitter, I put this on top of Frosty Lemonade.
Up close of the glitters.

Grassy Knoll is a lime green cream.

Sweet Spring is a pale pink cream.

Picnic Blanket is a clear base with large hot pink and white square glitters, I had a bit of a hard time getting the glitters to lay on my nails without sticking up, so I had to use several layers of top coat to try to smooth out the surface, which in turn started to produce some bubbling. I also had to dig around in the bottle to get the brush to pick up the glitters, so there are placement issues as well. I do have curved nails so that could have attributed to my problems with it. I used this on top of Sweet Spring.

One In A Melon is a bright pink cream.

With the exception of Picnic Blanket, all these applied great, no issues at all, these colors are perfectly suited for the upcoming Spring Season!

Zoya Mystery Mini Trio

Last month Zoya had a promo, get your choice of 3 colors and get a mystery mini trio for $15.
My curiosity was peaked so I decided to give in and make an order, I will be showing my 3 color choices soon, but I wanted to first show you what the mystery trio was.

Charlott, Anais, and Severine (in this photo, Charlott looks bigger than the other two, but its just the angle, they are all mini size)

Charlott is a nude cream.
I'm not sure how well this looks with my skin tone, but I think I will try some nail stamping over this at some point to see how it looks then.
It required 3 coats to be fully opaque.

Severine is a metallic gold, no streaks.
I think this will work well for stamping, I'm going to give it a try soon.

Anais is a shimmery dark brown, almost black, I really like this color!

So there you have it, the big mystery is revealed, not necessarily colors I would personally choose, (besides Anais) but I won't complain about free polish!

Mardi Gras/Birthday

Happy Mardi Gras and Happy Birthday to me!
I wanted to do a Birthday manicure that also incorporated Mardi Gras since it is also being celebrated today.
The base is RCM Amethyst, and I did a glitter gradient using FingerPaints Wrapped in Ribbon.

Up close of the glitter gradient.

This is also the perfect way to conceal growth when wearing gel manicures, the glitter covers up the empty space near the cuticle perfectly.

Born Pretty stamping plates

Born Pretty were so kind and offered to send me 3 stamping plates of my choice, I chose BP-02, BP-10 and BP-30.

BP-02 has very dainty lace and flower designs.

BP-10 is a Sea themed plate.

BP-30 is more of a variety plate, I can see using the Celtic knot designs for St.Patrick's Day nails.

They came neatly packed in this cute holder.

Each plate comes with blue protective wrap that needs to be peeled off before use and paper backing that protects against accidental cuts.

I thought that since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I would use the cute heart design and create a french manicure.
My base is RCM Amethyst, I stamped with plate BP-02 using Sally Hansen Silver Sweep.

I circled in red the portion of the stamp I used to get this french manicure look.

Born Pretty is very affordable, they have free shipping worldwide and have a huge selection of nail art goodies.

I also have a special 10% code for you guys to use, it is JRFBK31 and if it is used 10 times they are going to sponsor a giveaway!
Please feel free to use the code and keep an eye out for an announcement from me regarding a giveaway.

Pueen Encore Stamping Plates

I have been neglecting nail stamping for quite some time now, mainly due to the fact that I have been living in a temporary furnished apartment while my family and I are transitioning to a new State and home and all my stamping supplies are in storage.
I have been wanting the Pueen Encore plates since they first came out, but I was holding back on ordering them until we were settled in our new home.
I found out that won't be happening until August, so I decided I would give in and order them so I'd have some stamping plates to use while all my others are in storage. Good excuse right?

I really like that they come with a storage case so you don't have to worry about buying anything additional to keep them safe and secure.

There are 4 separate plates but they are double sided so you essentially get 8 plates. Each plate has a side A and B, separated by a plastic divider (the white border that you see), all you do is flip the plate over from A to B and use the other side.
P.S. Don't forget to remove the blue protective film prior to using

Please Note:
Pueen recently revamped the packaging with these plates. There were many issues previously with the plates originally being housed in a plastic sleeve with a "window opening" that needed to be removed prior to use and it wasn't very user friendly, they were hard to open and got in the way more than anything else.
They also changed the storage case, the pages now turn instead of just folding out, so it is really great that Pueen paid attention to their consumers and made the changes when there were complaints.

Now onto some close up photos of each plate.

I of course "needed" to test these out as soon as I got them and I am happy to report they are fantastic.

My base is RCM Garnet topped with NYC Matte Me Crazy and then stamped with SEO3A using Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Valentine's Day is coming up quick and this would make a beautiful manicure.

I purchased mine on Amazon.
