Apple Blossoms

I have mentioned in the past that my husband is in the Air Force, so we currently live in Las Vegas, but I am from a small town in Upstate New York and its known for having a lot of apple orchards. This time of year is when the trees bloom and its something from home that I miss terribly. Driving by an apple orchard when the trees are blooming, with the windows rolled down, ahhhhh the smell is heavenly. This past weekend the town I'm from celebrated with an Apple Blossom Festival and in honor of the celebration, since I couldn't be there, I decided to do an Apple Blossom manicure.

The base is NYC Skyline Blue, the branches are stamped with China Glaze IX, using Mash plate 37 and the blossoms are stamped with a mixture of China Glaze White Out and China Glaze City Siren, using plate BM-313

I love how it looks like a watercolor painting, I am very pleased with how this turned out.

Sunday Stamping: Inspired by your favorite fairy tale

This week's Sunday Stamping challenge is to create a manicure inspired by your favorite fairy tale. I am fascinated by Mermaids, I have a great love for the Ocean and just imagining that there is an underwater Kingdom far below the surface intrigues me, so for me, my absolute favorite fairy tale is, The Little Mermaid. For some people this manicure may not scream The Little Mermaid, but I wanted to keep this more true to my style, so this is just my interpretation of her. I really love how this turned out and I hope you do too.

The base is a gradient of China Glaze Rare and Radiant, Unpredictable and Want my Bawdy, topped with Sally Hansen Glass Slipper,I stamped with Mash Plate 39, using Wet 'n' Wild Black Crème

Taken in the shade, you can see more of the "scale" effect from Glass Slipper's flakies

Just for fun, I decided to add some glitter that also reminded me of fish scales, so here it is with one coat of China Glaze Make a Spectacle

Zoya Ornate Collection

I had gotten Zoya Blaze at the beginning of the year, and hadn't had a chance to use it until my Valentine's manicure. I fell in love with it so much that I had to get the other 2 holographic polishes in the collection during Zoya's Earth Day Nail Polish Exchange.

Aurora is a medium toned purple holo

Blaze is a berry tone red holo

Storm is a black holo

I am completely in love with all 3 of these shades!! The colors are exactly the types of colors I go for ( I just need a forest green and navy blue, hint, hint, lol)

Sunday Stamping: Over a lilac base

This week's Sunday Stamping challenge is to stamp over a lilac base, I am very excited about this manicure, I just love how it came out! I hope you love it as much as I do.

Base is China Glaze Get Outta My Space, stamped with Color Club Wild at Heart using RA-119 plate

I seriously could not stop taking pictures of this manicure and then I couldn't decided which ones to post, so I just went ahead and posted them all, I'm sure you guys don't mind.

These 2 colors go so well together, ahhhhh so pretty, they seriously were made for each other, although you do lose the holo effect of Wild at Heart once its stamped, its still the most gorgeous purple ever.

Color Club Wild at Heart

As you guys can probably tell by now, I'm currently obsessing over holographic polish, to add to my collection, I picked up Color Club Wild at Heart. It is a very deep purple holo, the holographic effect isn't as in your face as Beyond and Eternal Beauty, but that doesn't make it any less gorgeous. This kind of deep purple is one of my favorites, if you read my blog regularly, you know that I love any shade of purple, but I tend to be drawn to darker colors overall.

Color Club Beyond and comparisons

After getting Color Club Eternal Beauty, and well, falling in love with its beauty, I knew I needed to get Color Club Beyond, and its beyond beautiful!

Beyond is a deep charcoal with intense holo

I also picked up Color Club Revvvolution so I could do a comparison

(Above)I have Beyond on my index finger and ring finger, and Revvvolution on my middle and pinkie fingers. Revvvolution doesn't have as intense of a rainbow effect, but in my opinion it doesn't make a bit of a difference, I love them both equally and I'm glad I have them both
Once again, Beyond is on my index and ring fingers and Revvvolution is on my midde and pinkie fingers.
Bottle comparisons, Revvvolution is the black cap, Beyond is the silver cap.

While I was comparing, I wanted to see what China Glaze Galactic Gray would look like next to these two as well, so from left to right, we have Beyond, Revvvolution and Galactic Gray, no dupes at all, each one is unique and I adore them all.

Sunday Stamping: Inspired by your favorite shoes

This weeks Sunday Stamping challenge was to do a manicure inspired by your favorite shoes. I am not at all a girly girl, even though I am obsessed with painting my nails, its about as girly as I get, so I'm not a shoe fanatic type of person. Literally the only shoes I wear are sneakers and flip flops and since here in Las Vegas, the temperatures are already in the 90's, I practically live in flip flops, so that is what I chose to do for my manicure.

Since its so hot here, I am constantly dreaming of being at the beach all the time, so I wanted it to look like my flip flops were walking on a sparkling sandy beach, ahhhhhh, if only I really was.

My base color is China Glaze Fast Track, I stamped with Wet 'n' Wild Black Crème using BM-309

up close detail of the cute little flower flip flop, I used NYC skyline blue to dot the middle of each one.

I hope you enjoy this manicure as much as I do, I know its simple, but that's what I love about flip flops, they are effortless and simple, and that's my style.
